responce to scene in chapters 7-12
the scene with the mule: chapter 6 and compairing chapter 2
how the mule represents janie-
the mule represents many things in this book. one of the things the mule represents is janie. the mule represents janie because what it did in its past life and now the life style the mule has. the mule was over worked by Matt Bonner, until Joe bought him. when Joe bought the mule he saved him and led him to a life of leasure. this is what joe also did with janie. she was over worked by his old husband and when joe married her she was able to live a life of leasure. the way the mule came to joe was also the same way janie came to him. the mule ran away from Matt, just like how Jannie ran away with Joe.
how the mule shows the differnce in how Joe and Logan think-
there was a mule in one of the previous chapters aswell. logan who was janies first husband had bought a mule for her to work the farms with. Joe bought a mule for janie just to have and to love. this is compairing how joe and logan think of janie.

respone to scene
scene: when janie goes and talkes to nanny about not being happy in her marraige. it shows alot about nannay and janie. passage starting on page 23 to the end
respone: this passage tells you alot about janie and her maturity. she thinks love will just come to here event though she is unhappy in her mairage. she thinks that married people are just naturaly happy or will learn to love each other with time. it also shows that nanny is only trying look out for janie and here well being. janie is only 16 and has always lived with nanny and nanny knows she is going to die soon so she only wants the best for janie. she wants janie in good hands and with some one that she knows will take care of her. janie is complaining about all of his bad looks and phisical aspects and nanny is thinking about what he can provide her with. nanny gets a little at janie about this. this sets the tone for later on in the book when janie demonstrates some qualities that would make nanny happy.

"Their Eyes Were Watching God" 1st quotation responce
Quote: "Ships at a distance have every man’s wish on board. For some they come in with the tide. For others they sail forever on the horizon, never out of sight, never landing until the Watcher turns his eyes away in resignation, his dreams mocked to death by Time. That is the life of men. Now, women forget all those things they don’t want to remember, and remember everything they don’t want to forget. The dream is the truth. Then they act and do things accordingly." (page 1).
Response: The first few lines are saying that every man has a dream in mind, or are working to achieve their dream. For some men their dreams come to them with not that much struggle like the tide but for others it is always in sight but they can never quite achieve/ get to it. The last few lines are talking about woman and how they are different from men. It is saying that woman basically have a selective memory and only remember the things they want to. The last two lines are talking again about dreams. It is saying if you act accordingly, correctly or strive to achieve your goal that it will happen. Every one has dream, its up to you to make them happen or come true.

“All right then, I’ll go to hell!”
- this quote is talking about jim, when they take him and sell him. he says he will go to hell if befor he will stop being a friend to jim. this shows really stong charecotr on hucks part and how strong of a person he is and willing to do the right thing. if makeing a differnece to some one even if it endangers you it sill can be worth it. it shows the strong bond between huck and jim and really brings out hucks charector.

huck responce for 92-108
As you can see Huck and Jim are extreamly close. what does it mean that he is so close to him at these times? it is not social atiquite to be such good friends with a slave. this shows a level of maturity on Hucks part and that there is no difffence between races and children can see that if they have not been taught to. Huck is trying to free a run away slave who has taught him alot in his life. this show that you can learn form anyone the problem with people is that they are to quick to judge and somethimes the littleist kids can see that the best because they dont know how to judge yet.
